Abby Ott for BOCONI December 12 2013, 0 Comments
The images from the Boconi Bags & Leather shoot in Nashville are now ready for the public eye, and so is the new website (www.boconi.com)! I (Abby Ott) had the pleasure of doing the men’s wardrobe styling and working alongside Tyler Torti, Mark Cowart, Sarah Adams, Lauren Ledbetter and many other helping hands to produce the final product. See my behind the scenes photos here. The below photos are by Mark and Tyler. Enjoy browsing the new site! I may be purchasing a gift or two myself...
A few weeks ago, the very kind Tyler Torti of Allied Picture Co. hired me to do the menswear styling for a shoot in Nashville showcasing a leather goods company named Boconi. It was an awesome experience, and it felt amazing to have my hands in fashion again. Also, getting to work with the lovely Lauren Ledbetter was wonderful... She did an incredible job of art directing the shoot and gathering a truck load (literally) of props. I don’t know how she does it!
To collect the wardrobe for this shoot, I searched high and low. I shopped in an array of men's stores here in Louisville, rummaged deep in my friends' husband's closets, and borrowed from TJ as well. I used vintage and new items, bargains and not-so-much, designer goods and worn-in favorites. My goal was to create a look and feel for the different personalities fitting with each bag collection... "Leon", "Tyler", "Hendrix" and "Bryant".
What I loved most about this shoot is how collaborative it was. Just to get my job done, I had to seek help from numerous people. On the day of the shoot there were lots of individuals present to do everything from unload cars to hold lighting equipment. It never fails to excite me when people come together and put intense work and effort into making something beautiful...
